Plannable and local electricity supply

A historic electrification of society is underway. Electricity demand in Sweden is skyrocketing and is expected to double by 2035*. Major investments in, for example, steel production, battery manufacturing and the chemical industry are making a strong contribution, and the electrification of the transport sector alone is predicted to increase electricity demand by 13 per cent annually. The capacity of the electricity grid is being increasingly tested and is in need of large-scale expansion.
In order to meet growing demand and reduce carbon emissions, we need sustainable energy solutions that are both predictable and localized. This will make our society less vulnerable.
Jordkraft’s geothermal plant is placed where the energy is needed; in a community, at an industrial plant, server hall or charging station. The plant produces 5 MW of renewable, fossil-free electricity 24/7, all year round, regardless of the weather. This is sufficient to power 4,000 homes.
